What are the advantages of printing at basecamp tees?
We are a DC-based company that has onsite expert designers who specialize in print design and are trained to customize apparel just for you.
You have the option to work with us remotely or visit our storefront.
We also offer in-store appointments where you can try on sample garments or look at examples of our work before placing your order.
You avoid the expensive shipping and rush fees associated with online apparel companies.
We aim to be competitive with our pricing and delivery times, while also offering high quality items.
We have printed thousands of t-shirts for individuals and companies. We can print one t-shirt for just you, or 10,000 t-shirts for your company or event. No job is too big or too small for us.
HOW ARE ITEMS PRICED?
Prices are based on the quality of t-shirt, the number of colors printed on the front or back, and the order size. One of our experts will work closely with you to ensure our prices are within your budget.
what types of printing do you offer?
We offer screen printing, direct to garment (DTG), heat transfers and embroidery. If necessary, we can also do discharge printing.
For smaller production runs with less than 10 t-shirts, or designs with more than 4-5 colors, it becomes optimal to print on our DTG printer. For printing larger volumes, screen printing is more suitable.
Our DTG machine prints on 100 cotton fabrics. We use heat transfers for non-cotton fabrics that have many colors on the design.
can we print the same day & what are the normal turn around times?
Yes, we can print t-shirts for you the same day. Most orders are done between 3 -5 business days.
Where do we print?
We print smaller/simpler jobs at BaseCamp in DC proper, and larger jobs are printed in Woodbridge, VA.
Can WE DELIVER TO YOU?
Most customers pick up the t-shirts at BaseCamp, but we the the capabilities to have them delivered to your home, office, or have them shipped elsewhere, e.g. a conference or trade show.
We normally do not offer printed samples but you can see examples of our work at Basecamp. If you have a larger order, we can show you a sample before we print the entire order. Alternatively, we can send you digital examples of our previous work.
Do you offer printed samples?
We prefer to print on our own blanks because we have access to lower wholesale prices that would result in a cheaper price for you. Furthermore, we would be able to replace them from our warehouse should a garment get damaged during production. If you still want us to use your blank, we will print on them with an understanding we will replace your blank with a comparable product.
Will you use blanks that I provide?
Designs are normally included in the price when you place an order with us. If you have a complex design or require custom artwork we may charge you for a designer’s time, but we’ll let you know upfront.
Is the price for design included?
We use blanks from leading apparel brands, industry standard printers, and high-quality apparel inks. The durability of our garments and prints are comparable to larger online t-shirts companies or US retail stores. Many of our apparel brands are preshrunk but there is still still some shrinkage in some fabric styles.
How do your products & print compare to competitors?
We prefer your artwork to be submitted in vector format (EPS, AI, or PDF). High resolution raster file formats (PNG, JPG, GIF, TIF, PSD) that are 300 dpi+ are also great. We can try and use your lower resolution files, but these are on a case by case basis.
For DTG printing, vector (EPS, AI, or PDF) or PNG’s with transparent backgrounds are best.
What file format do we prefer?
We need to have the number of t-shirts and a sample of your image for us to give you a quote. In the apparel industry, prices change based on the number of ink colors and production run size and we prefer to give you an accurate pricing and delivery schedule.
What information do we need to provide a quote?
Yes, our prices include set-up costs. We will advise you if there are additional design cost (happens very rarely) or any other charges before taking your assignment. DC taxes are 6 %. Non-profit organizations need email us your tax-exempt certificate for waiver of the DC taxes.
Are set up costs included in my pricing? Are there any additional costs besides what I have been quoted?
Yes, you can order different colors and styles for the order. We will work with you to ensure that the designs work with all item
Can I mix and match different color t-shirts and styles for my order?
Every order is custom, which requires custom pricing. We want to give you a unique, customized experience where you get to select everything - design, apparel brands, style, colors and sizes.

What if I want to speak with a human?
While we have access to hundreds of styles from the warehouse, we have samples of the most popular styles in the store. We have swatches of the major brands so you can see the color and feel the fabric. We also have some samples of our work.
